Deborah F. Weiss is an associate with the law firm of Whitted Takiff LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Debby worked at Matt Cohen & Associates representing parents in special education matters. Debby also practiced as a criminal defense attorney at Chandler & Britt, LLC and in the civil rights arena at Dearing & Klauber, P.C., defending the state of Georgia against claims of prisoner mistreatment at correctional facilities.
Debby received a bachelor’s degree in history from U.C.L.A. and her law degree from Chicago-Kent Law School with Honors in 1993. Debby is currently licensed to practice law in Georgia, California and Illinois.
Outside of work, Debby participates on New Trier Township’s Oversight Committee and spends time with her husband, two children and their dogs.
Her practice is concentrated in the areas of school law, special education law, child welfare, and mental health law.
